Malmö is in the final of the European Cup of Champions. Such a headline will no longer exist today, because on the one hand the national champion cup has been replaced by the Champions League and on the other hand, Malmö will hardly make it to another European final. In 1979, however, the Swedes were actually faced with the biggest possible triumph when they lost the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the final. Since then a lot has happened and Malmö FF has fallen internationally into a thunderbolt. Meanwhile, the Swedes have returned to the European stage and even a few years ago in the premier class. It will not work this year, but the entry into the Europa League seems very possible.

Today’s Soccer Prediction Malmo vs Zrinjski Mostar

In the third qualifying round, it gets the Elf of the German coach Uwe Rösler namely to do with the Bosnian runner-up Zrinjski Mostar. It almost sounds like Malmö’s only formality to move into the playoffs where they would meet the winner of the encounter between Neftci Baku and Bnei Yehuda. At first glance, it seems clear that in the pairing between Malmö and Zrinjski Mostar, only one forecast can be made on the progress of the Swedes. Malmö apparently has the better staff and also has the better constitution.

At least in this first leg, there is much to suggest that the Swedes can produce a good result. Therefore, we also tend to give a tip on a home win in the match between Malmö and Zrinjski Mostar. However, the Bosnians are quite an unpleasant opponent to call, although not very successful recently, but in the second qualifying round but after all, has eliminated the FC Utrecht from the Dutch Eredivisie. Therefore, the Bosnians should not be taken lightly, whereby Uwe Rösler is known rather for making his teams really hot. Maybe on Thursday?

Malmö – Statistics & Current Form

Actually, Uwe Rösler had planned to continue his coaching career in Germany, but when he got the offer from Malmö just over a year ago, he could not refuse. In competitive games he has since brought on average more than 2.0 points with his team. That’s an impressive record. This puts the Swedes in the middle of the fight for the championship.

As you know, there is no summer break in Allsvenskan. That’s why 18 games have already been played. With 37 points, Malmö is in second place just one point behind leaders Djurgardens IF. In the last 23 games there was only one defeat, in a friendly against the Danes from Lyngby. The shape of the Swedes could not be better right now.

Therefore, in the first leg between Malmö and Zrinjski Mostar, we would completely neglect the odds of a score victory. The only question is whether the team of Uwe Rösler can present in this first leg accordingly, so that the return leg in a week in Bosnia is merely a matter of form.

Last weekend was in the Allsvenskan backlash. The last match of Malmö was therefore the second leg of the second qualifying round at home against the Slovenes of NK Domzale. After a 2-2 in the first leg, it looked a long time after an extra time, because after goals by Oscar Lewicki and Markus Rosenberg it was the break in Malmö 2: 2. Only in the 83rd minute was it Rasmus Bengtsson, who was able to mark the redeeming 3-2 victory and brought MFF into this third round.

“We have to go into this game with a cool head and with all our hearts. If we play concentrated, we have a great opportunity to move into the next round. ” – Johan Dahlin

However, the goals were mainly attributable to insufficient goalkeeping performance. Main goalkeeper Johan Dahlin, who had failed because of a stomach and intestinal flu, is now available again. Therefore, we assume that there will be no two goals against Mostar.

The goalkeeper assumes that it will only be up to him and his colleagues to make a round. He therefore expects Malmö to be passionate about this game and therefore speaks a lot for a home win.

Expected formation of Malmö:
➲ Dahlin – Safari, Bengtsson, Nielsen, Lewicki – Christiansen, Bachirou, Rieks, Berget – Antonsson, Rosenberg
➲ Coach: Uwe Rösler

Zrinjski Mostar – Statistics & Current Form

Although Zrinjski Mostar was founded back in 1905, international experience remains within manageable limits. Only in the year 2000 was the club allowed to give its business card for the first time on a European stage. However, more than the third qualifying round of the Europa League was not in it. Therefore, Mostar has already this year set the biggest success in the European Cup.

However, the Bosnians will hardly be able to celebrate, as the general performance in this young season is simply too mixed up. In the Bosnian league Mostar is just after third games on the third last place. After all, the derby against Velez could be won. However, things are not going well for the team of Hari Vukas yet.

Therefore, before the kick-off of the first leg between Malmö and Zrinjski Mostar, we would not give any prediction for a successful performance by the Bosnians. About the outsider role of the club is unlikely to get out. But the motivation to achieve the greatest international success is unlikely to fail.

The dress rehearsal went to hell last Sunday. In Zeljeznicar Sarajevo Zrinjski lost 0: 1. However, in Bosnian club football there are currently not much more difficult tasks. What insights the coach therefore draws from this narrow defeat, remains to be seen. In the last three away games Zrinjski has not won at least. In addition to two defeats is the 1: 1 in the last round in Utrecht to book. With such a result, Hari Vukas could probably live well even after returning from Sweden.

The task on Thursday tends to be the toughest match Mostar has to complete this season. With 23 players, the Bosnians travel to Sweden. This means that Zrinjski can come up with the desired formation. Hari Vukas currently has no complaints about injured players. We can imagine that Mostar will go into the game in Malmö with a complete new starting eleven, compared to last Sunday. At least that was the case in the duels against Utrecht.

Expected formation of Zrinjski Mostar:
➲ Brkic – Rugasevic, Barbaric, Jakovljevic, Kadusic – Rustemovic, Cirjak – Sovsic, Mandic, Govedarica – Hadzic
➲ Coach: Vukas
